Example of a Pre-designed Scenario Process

A large banking institution might have a scenario configuration that is used by all of their branches. In the scenario, there are only three values that a business analyst in a branch can modify:

  • 1 — Time period to consider
  • 2 — Medium type
  • 3 — Deposit threshold value

To support this use case, a designer would create the scenario and configure the following parameters in the scenario.

The designer would enable these parameters for use in a pre-defined scenario by specifying each of them as a value in the fields to which they apply. The following figure shows the assignment of these parameters.

The business analyst would then create a copy of the flow that contains the scenario with the parameters. For information, see Delete or Duplicate a Flow or Save a Copy of a Flow.

When the business analyst opens the scenario and accesses the Parameters tab, all fields are read-only except the Default value field.

The business analyst can edit the parameter values as necessary. When the scenario is tested or the flow is run, the assigned values are applied to each field to which the parameter is assigned as a value.

Note: The business analyst can view all other scenario sections, but can modify only the scenario name and description on the Properties tab.
