CAEFFECT Procedure

OUTCOMEMODEL Statement

  • OUTCOMEMODEL RESTORE=libref.data-table PREDNAME=prediction-name;

The OUTCOMEMODEL statement enables you to use a previously fit model for the outcome variable to compute counterfactual outcomes. PROC CAEFFECT uses the model to obtain predicted counterfactual outcomes for each treatment level that you specify in a POM statement.

When you use the OUTCOMEMODEL statement, you must specify the following options:

RESTORE=libref.data-table

specifies the saved model in the form of an analytic store.

PREDNAME=prediction-name

identifies the variable that contains the outcome of interest when data are scored using the analytic store.

The OUTCOMEMODEL statement is ignored if the method that you use to estimate potential outcome means does not require modeling of the outcome variable. If you specify this statement, any predicted counterfactual outcomes that you specify by using the PREDOUT= option in a POM statement are ignored.
